Available welding methods

Heating element butt welding
The category of heating element butt welding comprises all welding methods where plastics are frontally heated up by means of an anti-stick coated heating plate.
This welding method works up to a temperature of approx. 270°C and is the oldest known technology.

Heating element socket welding
The category of heating element socket welding comprises all welding methods where plastics are radially heated up by means of an anti-stick coated heating plate.
This welding method works up to a temperature of approx. 270°C and has been used for a long time in different areas.

High temperature welding
The category of high temperature welding comprises all welding methods where plastics are heated up to a temperature far beyond their melting point by means of special heating plates.
This welding method works up to a temperature of approx. 400°C and is especially used for serial welding.

Infrared welding
The category of infrared welding comprises all welding methods where plastics are heated up without contact to the heating plate.
This welding method works up to a temperature of approx. 600°C and can be used for butt and socket welding.

Rotation friction welding
The category of rotation friction welding comprises all welding methods where the plastics are heated up under pressure by means of rotating friction.
This welding method works without heating element, is ideally suited for short cycle times and can be used for butt or socket welding.

Induction welding
The category of induction welding comprises all welding methods where the plastics are indirectly heated up by means of inductively heated energy absorbers.
The principle of this welding method is that the plastics are heated by means of inductively activated electric streams being transformed to heat.

Microwave welding
The category of microwave welding comprises all welding methods where the molecules of the plastics are heated by means of electromagnetic excitation.
The principle of this welding method is that atoms and polar molecules are oscillated by means of electromagnetic waves and thus heated up.
