WIDOS expands

The WIDOS GmbH, market leader in many areas of the plastic welding technology, has undertaken and finished by the end of April 2009 a considerable enlargement of its office, assembly and stock capacities at its headquarters in Ditzingen-Heimerdingen. This milestone in the development of the company was thus the reason for a major opening ceremony with subsequent seminar for traders and an in-house exhibition from 4th to 8th May 2009.

For about 40 years, the WIDOS GmbH has developed, produced and sold machines for the welding and cutting of plastics. It has particularly specialized on piping systems in the field of gas and water, supply and disposal and industrial applications like chemistry, cleanroom, food and biotechnology. A further main pillar has been the establishment of special machines for large piping systems, the automotive industry and filtration within the WIDOS product range. In order to accommodate the growing number of employees as well as the constant increase in machine dimensions, WIDOS thus moved into larger premises for administration and development, assembly and stock on location in Ditzingen-Heimerdingen. The recently entered office building now provides an additional surface of appr. 580 sqm on several floors for the commercial departments. A total of appr. 600 sqm of additional assembling surface have been achieved whereas 300 sqm are allotted to a high production hall with heavy-duty crane for the fabrication of large-scale machines. As supplement, a stock building of appr. 250 sqm has been built and the available parking area has been enlarged in order to avoid further trouble in the parking situation of the industrial area.

During the opening ceremony on Monday and in the following days with traders seminars and in-house exhibition, an average of more than 100 extremely interested visitors were being counted per day. The specialized public could visit different information spots on the entire premises each showing another key product of the product range in all its variety. The presentation of different special and large-scale machines that are each world leader in its field of application was the highlight. The customers and destinations for WIDOS products are distributed over the entire globe, like for example the presented large-scale machine for pipes up to two meters whose site of operation will be in India in the local water supply and which served as center stage during the greeting of the guests. Great attention also raised a sporting car by Gumpert APOLLO for which WIDOS Grüna (Saxony) is going to produce some precision mechanical parts. WIDOS asks for some belated understanding for probable noise pollutions during isolated test drives.
